Through the Ascension program, Foundation will be the focus of Skill 1:

Skill 1: Radio Broadcast Equipment Technical Training/Speech Etiquette

Ascension Broadcasting Company will provide radio broadcast training to teenagers age 12-21 in the Greater New Haven area. The training will be conducted by Angela Maria Malerba, Veronica Nieves, and a staff of qualified industry professionals. This activity provides a foundation for job-readiness to students with hands-on skills to develop individual and group project programming that is beneficial to the member and the community at large.

Choices will be the focus in Skills 2 & 3 of the Ascension program:

Skill 2: Individual Program Development

Ascension Broadcasting Company will provide individual radio program development training based upon the member's music interests and specific needs, previously determined through an application and interview process with accredited staff members and clinical advisors. The development of said programming will be supervised by Angela Maria Malerba, Veronica Nieves, a staff of qualified industry professionals, and the incumbent Principal/Director/Advisor/Teachers of selected students. This activity provides observational research to clinical advisors as they track the progress of member development in an effort to reduce the high school drop out rate as well as reduce youth substance abuse. Students will be required to retain a designated grade point average and attendance record in order to remain members of Ascension Broadcasting Company.

Skill 3: Group Program Development

Ascension Broadcasting Company will develop group radio programming based upon the specific needs and goals of the group with an integration of specific topics of interest from their school curriculum and other current events. The development of said programming will be supervised by Angela Maria Malerba, Veronica Nieves, a staff of qualified industry professionals, and the incumbent Principal/Director/Advisor/Teachers of selected students. This activity provides observational research to clinical advisors as they track the progress of the group in an effort to increase communication skills, dialog among peers and the community through various debate topics, confidence in public speaking, and tolerance among opposing viewpoints.

In Skill 4, you will learn the importance of Connections:

Skill 4: Internship (18-21 years of age ONLY)

Ascension Broadcasting Company will provide internship opportunities for monetary savings and school credit. The internship will be supervised by Angela Maria Malerba, Veronica Nieves, a staff of qualified industry professionals, and the incumbent Principal/Director/Advisor of selected students. Students will first assist ABC in the development of educational, cultural and fundraising events including but not limited to guest speaking engagements, forums and panel discussions. This will build upon a foundation of job-readiness with goal identification and conflict resolution, networking capabilities, administrative responsibilities, and entrepreneurial skills. This activity aims to reduce the risk of students not pursuing higher education due to economic constraints by providing a stipend account with a local bank. This will assist the students by placing a portion of their wages into tax-exempt savings accounts for educational purposes. It further enables students with the knowledge to apply for educational scholarships from public and private foundations.

During the internship students will have the option to continue their Individual Program Development with limited supervision and/or assist in the primary training of incoming members for additional school credits. If they choose to have a program on the air, they will be required to submit a demonstration CD for approval of what they intend to showcase as its focus. This will assist the students in creating a portfolio of their work for submission when applying for formal education or employment opportunities. Additionally, ABC will request their assistance in training incoming members of the program to provide a basis for managerial experience.

Ascension Broadcasting Company will work with students to create meaningful ministries within the community as a grassroots level.

Life Skills 101 aims to educate young adults in the importance of Prayer and the matters of Health & Prevention in their daily lives.

Project R.I.S.E. aims to educate young adults on how to Respect, Integrate and Sustain the Environment naturally in their everyday lives.

In addition to Connections, Academics will play a large role in Skill 4:

Ascension Broadcasting Company realizes the importance of a balanced, faith-based education. Our curriculum uses this opportunity to engage in constructive discussion of secular beliefs, practices, and events from a Non-Denominational Christian standpoint in order to examine our past candidly, evaluate our present objectively, and move forward effectively for the benefit of all students into our future.

In order to establish a track record of success, ABC will bring various Networkshops ©, inviting prominent business, educational, and community leaders to join us in this journey by engaging with students on the importance of awareness and participation with our political system.

As students develop proficiency in the execution of technical broadcasting equipment, they will be additionally trained in the areas of marketing and management by developing strategic plans to execute such events. Thereby preparing students with portfolios to enter into institutions of higher learning or to become entrepreneurs with viable skills and actual life experience

Our goal is for students to develop a personal interest in shaping their world through the power of Radio Broadcasting and to introduce them to the therapeutic values of music, writing, public speaking and community dialog.

Leaving a lasting effect on those around you.
