ABOUT US
We are a small, family oriented church located at 3803 Regency Parkway, Ascension Baptist Church of Suitland, MD. We believe that you enter to Worship and Depart to serve.
Pastor is the recipient of numerous awards and he is affiliated with many organizations, such as: the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), American Bible Society (ABS), Organization of Professional Employees of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (OPEDA), American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), South Carolina State University Alumni Association, Washington Baptist Seminary Alumni Association and the Baptist Association and Auxiliaries of Southern Maryland and Vicinity (where he now serves as one of the Past Moderators).
Pastor was married to the former Carolyn Turner of Easton, Maryland, until she transitioned to glory in 2019. They were blessed with one daughter, Rev. Angela LaVon Campbell-Phelps. Also, Rev. Campbell has a son, Wilbert Fitzgerald Campbell, who spent a career as an officer in the military and now resides with his family in Germany.

Is there a dress code for attending the church?
There is no formal dress code. We encourage you to dress comfortably and respectfully as you feel.

We welcome volunteers in many areas including outreach, children’s ministry, music, and community service. Please contact our church office or visit us after service to learn more.
Does the church offer programs for children and youth?
Yes! We have dedicated Sunday school classes and youth group activities designed to nurture faith and community among our younger members.
